On September 27th, 28th, and 29th, the EU Tax Observatory held an online conference on the topic “The fiscal and distributional consequences of global tax avoidance and tax evasion” co-organised with the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre and DG TAXUD.
On three days, high-level experts held panel discussions, presentations, and keynote speeches on the topics of policy perspectives and public debate of global tax avoidance and tax evasion, the academic perspective, taxation in developing countries, taxation of wealthy individuals, multinationals & tax avoidance, legalism, creativity & tax compliance, offshore banking, European banks & tax havens, and tax evasion and income distribution.
