Environment

The EU Tax Observatory is an independent research laboratory hosted at the Paris School of Economics directed by Gabriel Zucman. It conducts innovative research on taxation, contributes to a democratic and inclusive debate on the future of taxation, and fosters a dialogue between the scientific community, civil society, and policymakers in the European Union and worldwide.

The Paris School of Economics is a private non-profit research foundation. PSE develops economic research of the highest international level and brings together a community of 135 researchers and 166 PhD students. It unites universities and grandes écoles to foster exchanges between economics and other social sciences, disseminate their work to a wide audience, and develop multiple partnerships with public institutions and private organizations.

Position

You will be responsible for the Observatory’s administrative and logistical operations, supporting the team and management. Your main responsibilities will include : 

  • Administrative coordination of the office: managing schedules, organizing meetings, following up with decisions, updating databases and internal servers, organizing workspaces, and managing inventories.
  • Organize business travel: reserving transport and accommodation for staff and guests.
  • Manage event logistics: coordinating events, welcoming speakers, and reserving spaces.
  • Monitor current expenses: collecting and forward invoices, in liaison with PSE’s accounting office
  • Supervise expense reports and mission orders: inputting and verifying n in compliance with regulations
  • Contribute to grant management: supporting management of budgets, preparing documents required for reporting and audits.
  • Preparing for the arrival of employees and visiting researchers: logistical preparation for onboarding, coordinating with HR and the partnership office for drawing up contracts.

Profile

With a minimum of 3 years’ higher education in management, administration or any other relevant field, you have previous experience in a similar position, ideally in an academic, non-profit, international or development organization. 

You are proficient in Microsoft Office and have an excellent level of written and spoken English (working language) and French. You demonstrate rigor, autonomy and organizational skills, and enjoy working as part of a team. You are recognized for your reliability, responsiveness and ability to manage several tasks simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
