PSE – Paris School of Economics is a private, not-for-profit research foundation. PSE develops economic research of the highest international standard and brings together a community of 140 researchers and around 200 doctoral students. It brings together universities and business schools with the aim of fostering exchanges between economics and other social sciences, disseminating its work to a wide audience and developing multiple partnerships with public institutions and private organizations. The EU Tax Observatory (https://www.taxobservatory.eu/), PSE’s in-house laboratory, is dedicated to excellent research on tax issues, with a particular focus on corporate tax evasion and avoidance. EU Tax Observatory is directed by Professor Gabriel Zucman and is housed at the Paris School of Economics.

 

Position

We are recruiting a research assistant to take part in the Observatory’s scientific activities for the academic year 2024- 2025. Your main tasks will be to:

  • Assist in the construction of databases
  • Conduct research on taxation linked to decarbonization
  • Code simulations and econometric applications
  • Participate in the writing of publications and reports in economics

You will be part of an agile and dynamic team, fully committed to the institution’s development and influence.

 

Profile

Master’s degree in economics or another relevant field. You have an excellent level of English (working language) and good data analysis and econometrics skills. Previous experience in coding and/or working with company data will be considered an advantage. Knowledge of tax and decarbonization issues is desirable but not mandatory. Your willingness and ability to work in an international environment will be highly valued.
